I didn't play with the contrast as some people have asked -- the red is just _that_ insane. yup.

*note* she IS in the process of smirking/smiling, so the facial contortion was awkward to begin with ;p

This piece is totally awesome...I love it! I see what you mean...it has come out really realistic. I really like the background of this piece. It works very well with the painting of the person. I also love the fact that you haven't placed the person totally central.

I really adore the colours that you have used in this painting. The red is so vibrant and vivid. It really stands out and captures your attention.

I also love the face. The colours are just right...they are the perfect flesh colours...making the whole thing really realistic.

This piece is totally jaw-dropping. I still can't get over how amazing it is. I can't wait to see more from you...you have a lot of talent.

Amazing use of colour! I especially like the play between the red in the lips and the red in the shirt, along with the hints of red in the background. Also, the skin looks very luminescent (sp?), which makes nice contrast with the sort-of grungy background.

thank you ;) the red in the bg is actually one of my favorite parts as well :) The skin might look luminescent because of the camera flash, but hopefully it will look *better* when I take a non-flash picture.

yay :)

I think it looks good luminescent, but it is your piece. *shrug* Everyone is their own worst critic, I suppose.

actually I meant to say I hope it isn't luminescent *just* because of the camera... it would be nice to know I can make skin look .. um more alive than just white/yellow/green paint ;)

I hate that I can't point out any flaws in this one.

Well, actually, wait. The side of her face, our right side, might be off. The area around her lips might not be full enough. I'm really not sure without seeing a ref, though. And even if it is, it's really not noticable at all. And again, I'm probably wrong.

I'm still trying to get a handle on colors like you have. Inspiring stuff, sir.

hehe thanks ;) You're definitely right about the right side and the lips -- that's why I don't include a reference *ever* ;p I had to struggle so much because her chin was SO much bigger before I worked another 30 min just to make her look human. Anyway, thanks for the comment and the constructive criticism ;) muuuch appreciated.
