30" x 40" acrylic on canvas

Iron & Wine song "Woman King" was the inspiration

Nothing is more regal than getting the center of a well-primed canvas all to oneself, like this here lady.

that neck collar it's not just from shakespeare's and french empire's..it is also from all the 15th/16th century clothes in europe.

I got the elizabethian collar reference right away (and your explanantion robbed me of my chance to dazzle you with my brilliant insight :P ) I love the merging of periods that it heralds. Very effective (especially when it adorns a spaghetti strap tank top) Your colours and brushwork are completely beautiful.
thank you ;) I am in awe of your brilliance (I honestly didn't think anyone would see it given the crap photo... hoped the title would help a bit).

:D

thanks :D yah, can't beat Iron and Wine for some late night/early morning painting inspiration. Although... now that I think back to those wee hours of the night-mornin', I only listened to the song twice! :bug:
