I'm in the process of re-focusing myself, meditating on why I paint, what I paint, how I paint. One word: deliberate. I have to be deliberate.
Stay tuned: I've been doing quite a bit of thinking these past few months, and I will soon be compiling all (or most) of my written and scribbled fragments.
as a long time fan and admirer its amazing to watch your style grow and evolve. it looks like your painting much dryer and it creates a new level of raw, expressive purity to your work. i really loved the complexity and explosiveness of your past work, but there is something very alive about these works even with the new found simplicity. i still see winston in every stroke. im glad your figuring out your work and your intentions, im also going through a similar struggle with my new work and i cant wait to see what you have been writing, because i think it might help me work through this time of uncertainty. i wish you the best and i love seeing your works! -nathan
I have to say that I am really moved by this painting. I've been trying to express in image those moments when you feel in perfect harmony with yourself and the world, that you are completely alive and aware. I think that expressing a positive feeling is somehow more difficult, and this is exactly what I think you acheived.
i have to completely agree with vasolinecat. in art, i find that its difficult to enjoy what your doing and the result. deliberately painting something aesthetically pleasing and therapeutic is hardly ever possible. but in this, i feel that you've achieved that. and it has an extremely positive emotion to it, even though its somewhat somber. you are an incredible artist.

now this i like in a list of 200-odd submissions to look at, it's so refreshing to find something this good. everything about it's just right; it's somehow really satisfying to look at! i'd completely buy this if i had money and it was for sale.

You bashed your head and I found something to do; I make up memories of me and you, it's like playing with your food, it's like playing with your food.
